![]() ![]() Seashore, could be great, but it's almost like you have 3 campgrounds in one, one nice and wooded, one old and decrepit, one asphalted and cramped, so you better make sure you book your stay in the wooded area! This aside, it is one of the closest to downtown and historic Cape May which is great, it is 10 minutes from the beautiful beach, there is a user fee, and all the main attractions. Also, the signage could be better and maybe a few outdoor property maps could be included because I got lost several times - once for 2 hours at midnight - returning to my tent at 2 in the morning.įirst, let me start with the rational behind a 3 out of 5 rating if this is one of the best campground in Cape May, the others are just not very nice! Sorry. ![]() I have to admit I am a snot and have found flaws in 5 star resorts in the Caribbean too, so it's really nothing to worry about. They weren't dirty, but not sparkling either and that subway tile wasn't doing it for me. To make the place better, I'd upgrade the bathrooms and clean them a bit more. Comparatively, I'd much rather camp in Seashore Campsites, where the amenities are nice and the people are friendly. For the $60 of a lovely campsite, you could be in some dingy motel the same distance away. You'd end up with nothing cheaper than $200 beachfront and you'd end up in a roachy, yucky motel. For the value, even considering the 10-minute drive to the beach, I highly recommend it as an option instead of going to a hotel or motel on the beach or in downtown. It allows for a sense of tranquility yet not feeling away from humanity. Depending on the campsite, you're a bit in the woods but close to all the amenities of home: showers, sinks, washing/drying machines, a pool, swimming lake, mini-golf, and even a little theater. Seashore Campsites allows one to do this because it is really developed. It's an enjoyable experience to those that do not mind roughing it for a bit. When staying at the campsite, I travel pure outdoors man: by tent. Please continue to keep it this way.Going to Cape May several times this summer, I've stayed everywhere from this campground to $400 a night resorts. Sun Communities got a jewel when they bought this resort. Lots of paved interior roads in Seashore Campsites to walk our dogs, ride our bikes. Some of the area resorts are on US Route 9 and the traffic is a little faster. Seashore Campsites is off Seashore Road so it is easy in and out. Their resort has been given a fresher look and it is better than before, which we did not expect. (2 elliptical machines, 2 treadmills, spin cyle, recumbent bike, circuit machines, free weights). ![]() Seashore Campsites has new and state of the art fitness equipment. They added a fitness center and not just a treadmill and beat up stationary bike. They have a 24/7 security gate (new under Sun Communities). We understand why this is one of the most popular RV resorts. Again, our site is long enough for our 42' motorhome and our tow car parked out front. ![]() Each has a "Seashore Campsites" fire ring (you have to see it to understand). Our site is outstanding for our 42' motorhome. They have done some little tweaks to improve the look and function of the RV resort. The difference is this wonderful resort, which was a top rated RV resort before, is even better today. We wondered how different things would be as it is now a "corporate" resort. This year, it is not a family owned resort as Sun Communities bought out the owners last Winter. This is our third trip to Seashore Campsites in Cape May, NJ. ![]()
